• Rev. Paul Larson

    Pastor.

    Pastor Paul is a native Californian and has been serving as Pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and chaplain at California State University, Monterey Bay since September 2022.

    He has over a decade of ministry experience; before his first call, he served as the Interim Youth Director of the East Bay Lutheran Youth Parish; a strategic designer for the ELCA Young Adult Vocational Fellowship Program; and summer staff at Mt Cross Ministries and Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp. He also interned with the ELCA Youth and Young Adult Ministries, and has worked as a community organizer.

    Pastor Paul received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from Luther College and Master of Divinity from United Lutheran Seminary. At the core of Pastor Paul's ministry is inclusivity and empowerment to show God's love to all of God's beloved children.

  • Noah Umamoto

    Accompanist.

    Pianist Noah Umamoto is one of the premiere young artists of the Monterey Peninsula. Since early childhood he has studied with Ladine Galimba and Lyn Bronson, and is currently preparing for undergraduate conservatory admission under the guidance of pianist and teacher James Neiman.

    Since 2019, Mr. Umamoto has presented critically acclaimed recital programs at the Carmel Bach Festival, the Paso Robles Paderewski Youth Piano Competition, and the Northern California All State Band Recital. In 2022 he appeared as a featured soloist with the Hartnell College Community Orchestra and Monterey County Pops, with notable performances of Rachmaninoff 2nd Piano Concerto, Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals, and Chopin Grande

    Polonaise Brillante.

    Mr. Umamoto is also the accompanist for the Youth Orchestra of Salinas
